Using the Record Data Import Tool

Using the Record Data Import Tool

After you have installed the Record Data Import Tool and prepared your data, you are ready to use the RDI Tool.

Step 1: Select Your Data

  1. Launch the Junxure Cloud Record Data Import from the desktop shortcut or the CRM Software folder in your start menu.
  2. Click Start at the bottom of the window.
  3. Use the file browser window to find and select your prepared CSV file to import.

The RDI Tool will scan your CSV file and present you with the data it finds for review.

Step 2: Preview Raw Data

You are given a preview of the data you have selected to ensure that you have selected the correct file. If everything looks good, click Next. Otherwise, close the program and start over.

Step 3: Map Your Data

After you have verified the raw data, you will be presented with seven pages of empty fields that you can map from data in your spreadsheet.

Each box represents a field on a CRM Record. The screens presented may not match the current AE CRM interface. To “map” a field in AE CRM to a column of your imported spreadsheet:

  1. Double-click on the field you want to map. The matching window opens.
  2. In the column on the left, locate the header from your spreadsheet that corresponds to the field you selected.
    • Single-click a header name to preview the data in that column.
    • If the data in the column does not match the data-type requirements of the CRM field, you will be given a warning.
  3. Double-click the header name to map it to the field. It will be removed from the list for further mappings.
  4. Repeat the process across the pages until you have mapped all the data from your imported spreadsheet. You do not need to fill in every field, only the ones for which you want data imported.

Optional: Global Fields

On the second page of the field mapping section there is a blue box with ten fields. As it states on the page, data entered into any of these boxes will be applied to ALL Records you import and will override any data for those fields in your spreadsheet. If you filled in this data on your spreadsheet you do not need to use this section.

Optional: Saving Mapping Template

If you intend to perform more than one import with the same spreadsheet layout, you can save the mappings you have defined to easily load those matches on future imports.

See Saving and Using RDI Tool Mapping Templates for further information.

Step 4: Matching Results and Saving

After the final page of AE CRM fields you will be presented with the mapping data you’ve completed. You may use the Previous button to return and make any adjustments to the data you like. If all the data is good, click Finish to receive your completed CSV output file. Save this file somewhere safe. You are now ready to import into AdvisorEngine CRM itself.
