Set Up Birthday Notifications

Set Up Birthday Notifications

To get a notification the day of a client’s birthday, create a Recurring Action for each Person that will trigger on or before the birthday.

Preparations

To keep these notification Actions easily separated from the rest of the Actions in your system, it is suggested to give them a unique Type, Tag, and Workflow Template to pull from.

We recommend setting up the following:

  • Create an Action Type of Birthday.
  • Create an Action Tag of Notification.
  • Create a single-step Workflow Template for Birthday Alert, using the above Type and Tag.

Adding Notifications

You need to create a Recurring Action Definition for each Person that you want to receive a Birthday notification for.

From the Record, navigate to Actions > Recurring Action Definition. Click Add New Recurring Action.

Build your Recurring Action Definition.

Pay attention to the following areas:

  • Range of Recurrence: Use From today's date and set No end date.
  • Recurrence Pattern: Set to Yearly, every 1 year(s), on the birthdate.
  • Action/First Step Pending On: Set to zero (0) to receive the notification on the birthday. Increase the number to be notified that many days before the birthday.
  • Workflow: Choose the Workflow Template created for Birthday Alert.

Click Save & Edit to review the Recurring Action and make any changes to the Workflow Template specific for this client.

Click Save & Close when you are finished to activate the Recurring Action Definition.

Repeat this process for each Person you want a notification for.
